David Joseph Constable
 

David Joseph Constable was born in Maidstone, Kent, and educated in both the UK and the USA, where he earned a degree in English Literature & Journalism and a Master’s in Modern & Contemporary Writing. He is also a CELTA-qualified English teacher for adult learners, certified by Cambridge University English Language Assessment. Since leaving academia, he has led a somewhat nomadic life, residing in Kansas City, Bangkok, Tuscany, London and Dubai. His interviews and writing have appeared in various international newspapers and magazines, including The Sunday Times, The Independent, Metro, Condé Nast Traveler, Esquire, Tatler and the South China Morning Post, as well as Jamie Oliver magazine. Currently, he serves as the editor and chief investigator for the French restaurant guide Gault&Millau in the UAE, responsible for news, features and interviews from across the region. He also leads the assembly of the Champagne Index and collates reviews for the annual publication of the restaurant guide. He has been interviewed about his work on various BBC Radio Arts Programmes, including The Robert Elms Show and Radio 4’s flagship current affairs programme, Today, as well as appearing on the Arabian Business podcast AB Majlis. David is a member of the British Guild of Food Writers and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and spends much of his year travelling.
